Attention EAA 288 Members! Appareo is running a promotion throughout the month of December to support local EAA Chapters. For every Stratus 2S purchased by an EAA288 member in December, Appareo will donate $50 to the chapter. There is also a $100 discount on the price of the 2S, and free shipping.
In order for EAA288 to receive credit for any 2S purchases, you will also have to let the chapter know that you have participated. If you take part in this promotion from Appareo, please let Dave Gitelman know by phone (386-760-8174), email (dmgitelman(at)gmail.com), or at the next chapter meeting, which will be held Thursday, Dec. 17.
Thanks, and fly safe.
We'll see you then, and fly safe!
Hard to believe another month has gone flying by. This month we've got a lot to cover. The November meeting of EAA288 will be held this Thursday, November 19th at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at Keith Phillips' hangar, at 222 Cessna Blvd in the Spruce Creek Fly-In. For driving directions, click here.
First, Annual Dues are due. We will be collecting $20 at the door for next year's membership dues. Cash or check gladly accepted. If paying by check, please make it payable to EAA Chapter 288. Please don't forget. It makes the Treasurer's job a lot easier if you do it now.
November is also the month to nominate two people for the position of Vice-President and Treasurer. If you have a burning desire to serve in some official capacity, here's your chance. Come prepared to nominate your best friend. The election will be at the December meeting.
Also, I want to remind all those that own or are thinking about owning anything with a Rotax engine; we are having a workshop devoted to those engines on Monday, Nov. 23, at Keith Phillips' hangar. The program starts at 5 p.m. and will run until 7 p.m. Tad Olmsted will be the instructor.
We are fortunate to have two speakers this month. Heinz Peier, who flew his SX300 N54JX around the world, will regale us with some of the highlights of his trip. You won't want to miss this.
I'm also pleased to tell you that Robert (Bob) Gandt will be with us to talk about flying and writing, both of which he does exceedingly well. After his talk, Bob will have a book signing session. If you're looking for an outstanding gift either for yourself or someone else, here's an opportunity you won't want to pass up.
As usual, we will need some fresh bodies to help with the setup and teardown/cleanup. Jon Shay has done an outstanding job of coordinating this effort. Thank you for all those that participated at last month's meeting. The WOW ladies will be setting up for their meeting, but we will have to bring in more chairs and arrange them after their meeting, which should end around 5 p.m. Friday morning cleanup will begin at 9. We can be done in 15 or 20 minutes if we have a good turnout. Please try to help. It is greatly appreciated.
Fly safe. See you at the meeting.
I know. It’s hard to believe that there are only two more meetings until the Holiday Season. Our next meeting will be held Thursday, October 15th, at Keith Phillips' hangar, 222 Cessna Blvd, Port Orange, FL. at 7 p.m. For driving directions, please click here.
